Welcome to the online home of Team P.E.C.C.S - a group of friends in our late 20's who rather stupidly cycled the length and breadth of Great Britain, in 9 days, from May 26th through June 3rd, 2006.
The route saw us start in bonny Scotland at John O'Groats and finish in Land's End (hence the abbreviation of JOGLE). The journey totalled 974 miles in length which meant we covered between 92-118 miles each day. We cycled on average at around 14.5mph and cycled for around 7-8 hours a day. On paper it sounded a daunting prospect and in reality... it was.
Why, oh why, did we do this?
- To raise as much money as possible for 'Professor David Cunningham's Research Fund' - part of The Royal Marsden Hospital Charity - £14,000 raised and still counting!
- None of were cyclists but we felt it would be a 'soft option' - how very wrong we were.
- To put our aging bodies to the test before it was too late!
- To see some of the most obscure, beautiful and ugly places Britain had to offer.
- To say we've done it!
Please visit the other areas of the site if you have time, hopefully you'll find it interesting - if you haven't sponsored us already it's not too late
Thanks for visiting.
